How to Setup Nicecast to SHOUTcast or IceCast

1.) Setting up Nicecast on Mac for the first time: Download and install Nicecast. If you have not purchased it already you can purchase Nicecast here.

2.)  Once you have downloaded Nicecast , select the dish icon and open Nicecast. You will see the name in the upper right-hand corner of your mac screen.

3.) Select "window" and open the "show broadcast" title.

4.) Select the source that you want to use to play your music. Itunes works well.

5.) Select "info" and input your stream information.

6.) Click on "quality" and select the bit rate, sample rate and channels.

7.)  Next go back to the "window" tab in the menu options and open the "show server" tab.

8.) Under servers click on the + symbol to add a new server.

9.) Put in your the name of your radio, select the Server Type (Shoutcast or Icecast v2), put your username next to account (Shoutcast v1 does not require a username),  the source password for your radio, the address (the address is the host name you can find it under quick links in your control panel), the port number and /live for the mount point (Only Icecast v2 requires a mount point. Shoutcast does not require a mount point)

10.) Go back to the Broadcast box and click "Start Broadcast" if everything is configured correctly then you will connect to the server and it will say on air.
